EXISTING BASE REQUIREMENTS
Below you will find information on how to check your existing base.
If your existing base is unsuitable don't panic. A replacement platform or levelling base can be purchased online with your new garden building.
Alternatively contact us for a FREE concrete base quotation or if you are still unsure whether your existing base is suitable.
FIRST CHECK YOUR BASE IS LEVEL
Place a level on each side of your base check the bubble remains in the centre of your level, check your base doesn't sink towards the middle by placing the level from corner to centre.
(The maximum allowance is the bubble touching the centre lines of the level. If outside of the lines your base is not suitable for our buildings, but don't panic as it could be fixed with a simple levelling frame, just contact us to arrange a base inspection)
Check your concrete base is level then proceed to check for any cracks in the surface as these are likely to open up and move/sink. If your base is level with an un-cracked surface it is suitable for our buildings
First check your base is level then proceed to check for any rot, splits in the timber. Your existing timber base will only be suitable if a concrete base post has been installed every (450mm) along all sides and throughout the middle of the base. Or if the timber base is a leveling base placed upon an existing concrete pad.
GRAVEL-BOARD & SLAB BASES
Neither of these bases are suitable for our buildings gravel-boards and slabs will sink over time. If you place one of our buildings on one of these bases guarantees & warranties will be void.
DO YOU REQUIRE A NEW BASE?
BASES WE OFFER
Our platform bases are great for a long lasting solution. All of our platform bases are installed on top of concrete deck posts or on top of existing concrete bases. No timber is touching the ground/soil and this minimises the chances of rot.
A Platform Base Is A Complete New base from The Ground Up.
You will require a platform base if you currently have no base present or your current base is extremely damaged or uneven.
LEVELLING FRAME BASES
Our levelling frame bases are a great solution if your current base is damaged or unlevel.
A Levelling Frame Base is placed upon an existing base to achieve a solid foundation. This is achieved by placing packers and posts in strategic places to bring the frame to a perfectly level position.
You will require a levelling base if your current base has moved to an unlevel position or is damaged/cracked or if you want to place a garden building upon an uneven concrete surface or a patio.
REINFORCED CONCRETE BASES
Concrete bases are always recommended as they are strong and will last the lifetime of your building with ease. Our bases are between 4-6" deep with 1-2 layers of reinforcing mesh depending on size.
Our Concrete bases are Price On Application as there is many variables that go into installing a base.
Our concrete bases are installed by Albion Fencing & Construction Kent LTD.
